tongue tied

I decided it's best not to belabor the point about why I have become so inconsistent with blog entries. I do think something shifted for me last spring when I made a conscious decision to not complain anymore. Suddenly I found that I had nothing to write about. Which is kind of funny when you think about it. I mean really, I could write about all the things I wasn't complaining about but then I became self conscious of that too; Not wanting to be all sunshine and roses, which can be very annoying in it's own right. Then I confused myself and now I have so many stockpiled photos and stories of things that I haven't told you about it's like I've left all my homework to the last minute and I don't know where to begin. So I am just jumping back in. Starting fresh with a photo of a new piece that I just sent off for this show at the Kohler Art Center.

Hello 2009, I'm ready for you!
(and I promise to complain a little so that I'll have something to say)

Another beautiful bowl!

It's funny (and kinda sad) how when we decide not to focus on the negatives that our conversation (and blogging) becomes limited. It's good not to rush to fill the silence though.

YAY! I've missed your posts and I don't remember them being full of complaints, either.

Darn it Diana. That bowl is to die for !!! Beautiful.
Have been trying to do something similar (except with impressionism rather than exact detail) for weeks now, without success, so if i had an envious bone in my bod, it would be of your complete mastery of detail, color and design.
Awesome.

It's about time! :)
I was getting weary of checking my rss feed to see if there was anything new!
I don't remember any complaining posts either.

and i love hearing your stories, whether they are of the complaint or sunshine-and-roses variety (and i agree that all sunshine is a bit annoying ;) ) so do dive back on in and share away!

This made me laugh Diana as I often feel that same confusion.

I'm all for 'slow blogging' myself. Quality over quantity is always a good motto.

There is a great slow blog manifesto at http://blog.oup.com/2008/11/slow_blog/ that I really enjoyed.

Lovely bowl and lovely thoughts. You're not alone in thinking "if I didn't complain i'd be very quiet". My husband loves those days, though! :-)

I just found your blog, and reading through it, enjoyed it immensely! Hope to see more of your work. I especially liked your style in the obamaware platters and pots!

Hi Diana,

Thanks so much for your 2009 greetings! Happy 2009 to you too. Your work gets more and more beautiful!

I have now created a site just for the interviews - and all of the older and newer interviews are included, yours too of course. It is called artists who blog www.artistswhoblog.blogspot.com
I decided that the interviews needed their own space. Check it out when you have the chance.

Thanks and I love all your support of Obama. We are all so happy here in Europe too. My German friends are now so envious of our new, fresh, intelligent president - and that is such a big change from the last 8 years of always having to apologize for being American. So yippee 2009 and all the best to everyone :)

Keep in touch!

It's funny because when I started my blog I promised myself to only focus on the positive! haha Maybe you're right about not wanting to be all "sunshine & roses" but years from now when I look back on what I've done in the past I want to remember the happy & fun times in my life. So don't worry about sounding too happy! ;)

P.S. Your bowl is absolutely beautiful! I'm excited to see more of your work on Etsy!

Cheers from Belgium!
